I am an experienced and qualified counsellor based in Tunbridge Wells. I am a Registered Member of the BACP and I abide by their code of ethics. I began my career in financial services and spent a number of years managing a team, delivering training and managing global projects.
I have since completed four years of training in Transactional Analysis counselling and psychotherapy. I work with young people and adults and have a number of years experience of working in school settings with multi agency teams.
I have worked with clients who are experiencing or suffering from a wide range of difficulties including: depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, family breakdown, anger, anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, bereavement, low self-confidence, relationship issues, abuse, disability, trauma and loss. I’m passionate about working creatively with clients to allow them to express their feelings and thoughts through sand play, art and creative exercises in times when words can feel too hard to find.
I have worked with the students and staff at Pestalozzi International Village, both on a one to one basis and facilitating workshops. I have experience of working with clients with acquired brain injuries. I am an approved counsellor for the Police Firearms Officers Association.
I am a qualified Cognitive-Behavioural Hypnotherapist working in Tunbridge Wells. My passion is to help others adjust to living happily in their world.
I trained at the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy. The training is based on evidence from scientific studies, many of these are from the Stanford University in the USA. The combination of Hypnosis and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has proven to enhance the effectiveness of therapy. In addition, Mindfulness is taught during the training and is a great tool for gaining some control over a busy mind. Trust me, I was very sceptical and I was won over by how great it was. I practice Mindfulness everyday now as it helps me focus on tasks and is great for relaxation.
This training is recognised by The British Psychological Society as continuing professional development (CPD) for those already working as psychiatrists.
I have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate for working with adults and children.
